ABOUT ME:
I pursue not only a career, but a dream of mine, an aspiring Makeup Artist and Cosmetologist. I first started working at two departmentalized salons, Couture 360 (4 years) and Salon V'Co (5 months) as a Hair Color Specialist and Makeup Artist. On the side, I liked to fill my days off and free time freelancing for my self employed company KO Makeup Artistry and working at haunted houses as Artists and Actresses such as Realm of Terror in Round Lake, IL, and Psychosis in Elgin, IL. The reason I chose to prolong my career as a Hair Colorist is because I had a plan, and that plan was to be the best I can be as a Makeup Artist. Hair color actually has A LOT to do with makeup, and plays a huge role in your complexion. I have always had an eye for color since the day I could identify peoples outfits and makeup. Once I mastered the skills as a colorist for hair I felt it was my time to focus on the prize, so I took on the position as a Makeup Artist for Lancôme Cosmetics. Lancôme always kept me busy with weekly events, I would set up, build an invitational clientele for the spa/makeup events we held. I had the privilege of working aside celebrity artists, absorbing knowledge and applying beauty makeup on the guests I invited in a timely manner. At the Winston Golf Club I participated in a Catholic Charity event, my duty was to share my knowledge on skin care/makeup in front of an audience. For a small clothing boutique called House of Betty Jane, I was asked to work on a fashion show with them as a makeup artist and worked on about 12 models. While attending Makeup First School in Chicago I worked for their booth at the Taste of Chicago, my job was to advertise the school I attended and have them sit in my chair and apply glittery and glamorous makeup on them. Lastly, I was and still am involved in The Bad Ass Art and Music Show promoting KO Makeup Artistry. STYLE: The difference between my personal style and the style of my work is like a rainbow with the color black included. For my work, it can go from creepy, dark, and bold, to naturally beautiful, glamorous, and enhancing attractive features. I DEFINITELY enjoy the priceless feeling of making a bride, a self conscious woman, or clueless teenager feel absolutely unstoppable. My personal style is more on the edgy side, and I love putting a piece of myself into what I do. My style of work is to help someone feel beautiful, confident, and sexy, and with that I'm giving every bit of myself to not only putting a face of makeup on someone, but touching their souls, building a connection, and boosting confidence. My style isn't only on the outside, but its on the inside too, for myself and every individual I have the opportunity to work with that gives me the inspiration to keep going. GOALS: My goals are endless. I am willing to take any opportunity that comes my way to provide myself and my artistry exposure. I dream of working for films, musicians, news reporters, celebrities.. etc. My goal is to travel the world doing what I love, also to educate and inspire aspiring artists. It takes true dedication, passion, and time to reach your final goals, even in the beginning it's tough, but I will not stop until I reach to the top. Types of shoots I'm interested in: The photo shoots that I'm most interested in are anything creative, SciFi, Horror, or high fashion themes. The reason I chose these themes is because I love to expand my creative thoughts and just create characters and step outside of the normal realm. Although, I would be happy to be apart of any type of photoshoot just as long as I get the chance to do what I love. I love to make the most of what is thrown in my path, but doing a shoot that has a connection to who I am would be absolutely amazing. |
