Evan J. Thomas previews the 2018 Lexington Comic & Toy Convention that is being held March 9-11 at Heritage Hall next to Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY

We are merely a few days away from the 2018 Lexington Comic & Toy Convention to be held in the Heritage Hall at the Lexington Convention Center just steps away from Rupp Arena kicking off this Friday March 9 till Sunday March 11 and the organizers are expecting a jam packed three days of festivities.  The 2017 convention drew over 25K attendees for the three day event.  It’ll be my fourth straight year attending and I have had a blast at every one of them.  

Attendees can attend a kickoff party on Friday night as well as photo opps with celebrities.  You can join in on gaming tournaments, cosplay contests, Q&A’s with various guests, seminars like “How To Get Started in Movies”, Steam Punk Funk Belly Dance Performance and a VIP Cosplay Party with Live Art on Saturday night or just wander through the various floors and check out amazing collectibles and various items for sale.

The 2018 lineup is chock full of celebrity guests, comic creators, exhibitors and vendors from all walks of geekery.  Comics, toys, magazines, gaming, horror, anime, movies, art, music, wrestling and more will be featured throughout the weekend.  

Some of the celebrity guests this year who will be signing autographs and taking photos will be from the movies and TV genres the legendary Chuck Norris, Billy Dee Williams, Ian McDiarmid and Tim Rose of Star Wars fame, Lou Diamond Phillips, Pauly Shore, Ke Huy Quan of Goonies and Temple of The Doom, Shannon Elizabeth and Thomas Ian Nicholas of the American Pie movies and many more.

WWE Legends and Hall of Famers are featured every year and this year has some major names like 2 Time Hall of Famer Ric Flair, Trish Stratus, Amy “Lita” Dumas, Kevin Nash, Booker T, Rey Mysterio and Jim Cornette.  Comic creators will be displaying meeting with fans will be Neal Adams, Michael Golden, Greg Capullo and dozens more.
