Distance Defined is: Rollin Ritter-Lead vocals Trevyn Days-Guitar/Vocals Trentyn Days-Bass/Vocals Tim Vinson-Drums Hailing from Alaska and actually spread apart nearly 300 miles between members. The drummer is in a town called Wasilla, the vocalist is in Kenai, guitarist in Anchor Point, and bassist is in Homer. Distance Defined began June of 2016 when Rollin posted an "ad" on a Facebook page "Kenai Peninsula Music" looking for a metal guitar player. Trevyn responded and sent him some songs which was well received. The problem was noted that everything would have to be done long distance. Without planning on making it so serious we all agreed to just play around and write some music. Trevyn started writing music every day and within a few weeks time there were about 3-4 song ideas and we just started to work with the rough tracks. Both Trevyn and Tim had home studios. Trevyn would record a scratch track and send it to Tim via email and he would then practice and write his drums parts. The same scratch track would get sent to Rollin so he could work on lyric ideas. Once songs started to come to life we figured we should try and play some shows which of course required some actual practice. Trentyn (Trevyns brother) joined in when Trevyn asked if he wanted to play bass. So he had to learn the songs quickly so we could play shows as a 4 piece. Tim drove 5 hours to our first "band practice" and right away once we all started playing together we knew we had something. That's all it took and the rest was history. We started playing shows, recording our songs, and gaining local attention. After our first show we were asked to open for a August Burns Red. The show was amazing and we gained even more fans, selling our CDs and merch as well. Our CD officially released on iTunes/Spotify/apple music/google play on the June 19th and we have been working on a follow up EP to be released sometime mid 2018. We look forward to continuing our journey by playing more shows, getting our music out there, as well as maybe trying a small Pacific Northwest tour sometime in the next year.
