Listening to your music, who would you say has influenced your sound today the most?

Jenny Teator: Grace Potter.

Describe the process in which each of you took to develop who you have become today.

Jenny Teator: Honestly, it came very naturally for me and the team to "brand" my sound and image. There was no facade, no hidden agendas or pushed images on me. They believed in me from the start and we never had to create something that wasn’t genuinely me which I loved. I think the industry can sometimes pressure you to be someone you’re not and that was my first boundary going into this career- I wasn’t going to let that happen and wanted to keep my foundation honest. I basically took all the things that I love, believe in and promote and blended it into an organic…me as an artist. I love black. I wear hats. I have a positive mindset and encourage others to embrace their beliefs and feelings. I’m also sassy and like to have fun. You see all of this in my “brand” if you’d like to call it that, but I’m just me in the end!

You like to work out- what is your favorite exercise and what is on your workout playlist?

Jenny Teator: I love doing HIIT workouts, its a total body workout and I just feel so good after. Also… booty workouts haha. All about it. I usually listen to pop music playlists consisting of Lizzo, Dua Lipa, Anne Marie, Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran etc!

Since music seems to have different feels in different locations... have you seen a change in your area this past year?

Jenny Teator: I have. I’ve noticed in Nashville there is a growing rock and pop scene (which is awesome). Most people say “Oh you live in Nashville- so you’re country?”. But if you don’t live there, you don’t see that the music scene is absolutely flourishing in other genres. Stereotypically, Nashville is known for country- but times have changed and there's other genres the are thriving there and I love it! Times are changing and I’m so ready to create a new scene with my music and join forces with others alike there, its already begun.

Talk about your latest music project.  Who wrote it? Is it about anyone/anything in particular? Where was it recorded? Did you work with a particular producer?

Jenny Teator: I just released a song and music video called “Daughter of the Devil”. I wrote it with Drew Dixon in Nashville, TN. There's not really a deep meaning to it, it’s not about anyone in particular its more fictional. I recorded it at Red 13 Studios in Framingham, MA which is also where my first single was recorded. The producers are Shaun Lichtenstien and Mark Roberge also known as OH NO! ØKTAPUS.

Plans in the works forward?

Jenny Teator: We are in the works of recording more songs to work towards releasing an EP in 2020 and also touring!! Stay with me, timing is everything.

Dream lineup- what four bands would you like to tour with and what festival would you like to play on most?

Jenny Teator: Blackberry Smoke, Grace Potter, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and Gary Clark Jr! I’d love to play Lollapalooza or Coachella.

Rochel L: Listening to your music, who would you say has influenced your sound today the most?

Jim Bobbi Nash- We are really all over the place when it comes to our influences. On our album “Incredible Villains”, there are hints of punk rock style and others are more hard rock. If you were to ride out to a gig with us, you would hear the following bands: Black Sabbath, Pearl Jam, Led Zeppelin, New Found Glory, Bayside, Hall n Oats, Elton John, Slipknot.

Rochel L: Describe the process in which each of you took to develop who you have become today.

Bryan Nash- Personally, I have spent my life in pursuit of independence. And I have made so many mistakes along the way and I wouldn’t change a thing. Some times have been painful as fuck, and other times have been a celebration.  Pain is as much an important asset as the pleasure. If anything comes easy, it’s not worth having. That’s why I love what we do as a band. It is such an uphill battle but at the end of it, the spoils will be ours and will be hard earned.

Dylan Johnson- I’ve always just tried to live life to its’ fullest and do my own thing. And with the band, I feel like we do that too.

Jim Bobbi Nash- I have always had to work for everything that I have. Nothing has ever come easy for me and it is okay. Putting in all the work, it pushes me, it makes me better. I’ve definitely learned a lot from having to constantly think of ways to achieve and push for what I want.

Joe Nash- I was commissioned as an officer in the Navy Reserves, and shortly after that, joined Expeditionary Port Unit 102 out of the Bronx, NY, so I feel like a lot of who I am today has come from being involved in that. I retired at the rank of Lieutenant and was honorably discharged. Now, I am focusing on things with the band and raising my son.

Rochel L: What is each band member's favorite kickback/crash and burn band to chill out to?

Bryan Nash- Pearl Jam
Dylan Johnson- Bayside
Jim Bobbi Nash- Queen
Joe Nash- Slipknot

Rochel L: Since music seems to have different feels in different locations... what does the music scene at home sound and feel like? Does the scene pull together?

Jim Bobbi Nash- At the moment, we feel the scene is struggling and we have a hard time finding the right venues and the right shows to play. It takes a lot more effort to get people to actually come out to support you. We aren’t against technology or anything like that, but we are trying to find those people that still want good ole fashion entertainment that gets them off their couch.

Rochel L: Talk about your latest music project.  Who wrote it? Is it about anyone/anything in particular? Where was it recorded? Did you work with a particular producer?

Jim Bobbi Nash- ‘Incredible Villains’ was written for the fans. The general idea was that we wanted to connect with them.

Bryan Nash- Our third album is still in the works. It is in the very beginning stages.

Joe Nash- ‘Incredible Villains’ was recorded at Gearbox Recording Studio in New Jersey. Ryan Ball was our producer.

Rochel L: On the lyric video, who did you work with, cool graphics too btw?

Dylan Johnson- For the ‘D.I.T.C.H.’ lyric video .. we had a few ideas, so we reached out to a friend, Armando and tell him what we were thinking. We trusted him, so we let him run with our ideas and come up with the product.

Rochel L: You decided to do Lyric and Live on this particular track- reason?

Joe Nash- We really felt like our live performance with this song was really powerful, so we wanted to give people the opportunity who have not been able to see us, a chance to do that. We were really looking forward to that show at Rockwood Music Hall and a bunch of fans/friends got a bus into the city to bring people, so we were hyped about that. We knew they were going to bring the energy we needed.

Jim Bobbi Nash- We are looking forward to playing larger venues. This year, we were able to snag a show at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ. That venue is huge for us. All of us have gone there to see shows of some of our favorite bands, so to be able to get in there, was such an accomplishment for us. We want to keep that momentum going. We still want to push the album ‘Incredible Villains’ and we want to continue writing songs for our third album.

Dream lineup- what four bands would you like to tour with and where in the lineup would you like to perform?

Bryan Nash- Ghost, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, N.A.S.H., The Beatles
Dylan Johnson- Stone Sour, N.A.S.H., Avenged Sevenfold, Bayside, Alice in Chains
Jim Bobbi Nash- N.A.S.H., New Found Glory, Queen, Metallica
Joe Nash- Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, Shinedown, N.A.S.H., Ghost
