By Stephanie Stevens MOON FEVER is a high octane, pull no punches and leave no bottles upright kind of rock n roll unit that we desperately need in this day and age! The band delivers a ultimate treat in the newest single CASANOVA. It oozes with high octane Rock n Roll confidence, bitching guitar riffs and a vocalist showcasing raw and soaring vocal appeal. The guys Cody Jasper-vocals, Mitch Micoley – Guitar, Joe Perez - Guitar Gabe Maska - Bass, Greg Garcia - Drums are the real deal for bringing back the delight and good times of what rock music is! MOON FEVER is ready to assault the world with the bands multi-hyphen defintion of how rock n roll should be! Get to know Cody and Mitch a little more! Q: I heard you guys connected together online before you met in person – is that true? How easy was that to do and believe a band could come together from it once you met in person? A: Cody: I got a Facebook message from Mitch’s old manager Erika - she saw me playing in Austin in 2012 and when they were looking for a new singer for Moon Fever somehow she thought of me. They sent me the songs and I started writing some words and melodies to them. They flew me out to Los Angeles for an audition and it was a very easy from that point on - it was like we have been playing music together for years 🤟 . Mitch creates a bed of Guitar melodies that matches exactly the way I like to sing. Q: What genre - if you had to be labeled - would you want to be labeled as? A: Mitch: We are high energy Rock N’ Roll! Q: How did you become a musician and what is your instrument of choice? A: Cody: Currently my voice is my favorite instrument - Thanks to Moon Fever! A: Mitch: I'm a guitarist, and when I was a kid I used to play piano and trumpet… But I thought playing guitar would be a cooler life style choice. I originally started taking lessons from a local blues musician on a super cheap $75.00 Jay Turser electric guitar, and things developed from there. Q: “CASANOVA” has so much energy and has hints of classic rock with modern twists. What inspired this track? A: Mitch: I wrote the riff in my old studio mid-summer of last year in Downtown LA. I think it reflects that Los Angeles, partying in the summer vibe. A: Cody: Mitch had that riff and we were just sitting in our studio - working on songs like we usually do. It flowed naturally from there and the whole song came together. Q: Is songwriting an easy task for you guys as a whole? A: Cody: Yes - there’s some magic there between us - it kind of just happens, almost too easily. A: Mitch: Its super organic. Cody and I really feed off each other when it comes to songs! We wrote and recorded our first ten songs in a month and a half - it really was a fun, creative process. Q: Any current or hopeful future plans for your band and how people can keep up to date with you? A: Mitch: After we are allowed to get back out there, we are planning on doing a few shows where we can. We are going to be releasing singles throughout the year. We also have a "social distancing" based music video that’s starting to look amazing, that should be out in another month or so. Our links are below – you can follow us on all social platforms and streaming sites. Q: What is the most important thing about music that can help people, especially during times of crisis - in your opinion? A: Cody: It’s an escape, a way for folks to forget their troubles for a bit. A: Mitch: I think it gives people an escape from the monotonous day to day life, and especially now with everyone being in lockdown. 🎼 Q: What do you hope people will remember most about your music? A: Cody: Whatever it is that touched them… Whatever it is that made them nod their head, or sing along. A: Mitch: Catchy, hypnotic riffs, with soaring vocals….. Peppered in with some banging guitar solos. 👊 Q: If you could give people struggling with finding a passion they love to do, what advice would you tell them? A: Cody: Keep on chopping - that tree will fall! A: Mitch: Just keep doing it until something pops for you. Typically when I come up with a song idea or something creative it's just falls out of the sky when I'm not looking, it’s just there. Just be open to it and make sure to keep your voice memos handy! Q: Empower another artist by telling us someone you admire and why you admire them. A: Cody: Paul Val – a young musician out of Austin, Texas. He is the “real deal” - an incredible Rock N’ Roll guitar player and a great guy. I definitely see him becoming a heavy hitter. A: Mitch: I admire any artist trying to keep creating and growing during this strange time. It's not an easy thing to do right now, So hats off to ya!
