Iconic industrial music pioneers Ministry made their long awaited return to the Chicago area at a jam packed The Forge in Joliet, IL this past week. The godfather of industrial music, Al Jorgensen who recently turned 60 years old, graced the stage in support of the bands most recent release AmeriKKKant as well as the special 30th anniversary of The Land of Rape and Honey.
The band emerged to the stage with full video screen and TV's and Al's epic mic stand that was created by Sawbladehead Designs. (See photos) The first half of the bands set was the album AmeriKKKant and the second half was tracks from the before mentioned The Land of Rape and Honey, the tracks "N.W.O" and "Just One Fix" off of Psalm 69, "Thieves" from The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste and more. The masses brought the energy as some brutal pits popped up and body surfers swarmed about the floor. Fists pumped and the "metal horns" permeated throughout the show. It was an intense and gratifying show from beginning to end.
